May Day 2025!
We did it! All four elementary schools in the Englewood, Colorado School District teamed up with ZAG Project this spring to participate in a heartwarming community celebration: A Celebration of Community and Kindness in honor of May Day.
The students at each school created and delivered cones and handwritten cards along with with flowers—small, thoughtful gifts meant to surprise and uplift neighbors and community members.
“May Day is about spreading kindness, celebrating spring, and building connections, It’s a simple gesture that teaches kids the power of giving without expecting anything in return. We’re thrilled to see Englewood Schools embrace this tradition.” - Tracey Brummett, Lead Curator of Joy at ZAG Project
Observed on May 1st, May Day has centuries-old roots as a springtime celebration. Traditionally, people anonymously deliver small bouquets or baskets of flowers—often to friends, neighbors, or community members—as a way of spreading joy and goodwill.
